Led by Terry A. Melvin, MD, FAAHPM and Christina G. Jolander, FNP, Partners in Care, PLLC offers comprehensive primary care for teens and adults, geriatric medicine, and in-home care for seniors.

Our practice was specifically created to make it easier for people in every stage of life to effectively manage their health and the health of their loved ones.

We do this through educating individuals and families about the disease process, honoring individual resources, and building lasting relationships with our patients and their families.

We always have a staff member available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to handle emergencies, so when that unexpected illness strikes, don’t hesitate to call our office for immediate assistance and care.

With a passion and dedication for keeping residents of Chattanooga healthy, Dr. Melvin and family nurse practitioner Christina extend compassionate care that promotes overall wellness and longevity. Our practice also provides treatment for acute and chronic illnesses such as high cholesterol, heart disease, hypertension, arthritis, and much more.

We accept most insurance and we offer convenient self-pay options.

Terry A. Melvin
MD, FAAHPM

Dr. Terry A. Melvin is a board-certified Geriatric Medicine Specialist (geriatrician) in Chattanooga, Tennessee and brings over 37 years of highly dedicated experience in the field of primary care and geriatric medicine.

Dr. Melvin is a Certified Medical Director for Hospices and a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (FAAHPM), an honor achieved by her devotion to the practice of hospice and palliative medicine.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from Texas Southern University and went on to complete her Doctorate of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Melvin understands and attends to the unique health needs of patients of all ages and specifically, the elderly. She extends palliative care for chronic diseases, nutritional problems, skin ailments, cognitive loss, memory impairment, adverse effects of medications, immobility and balance issues.

Shenandoah Hobbs
Family Nurse Practitioner

Shenandoah Hobbs earned her Master's degree in nursing from Carson Newman University after over 14 years of nursing experience.

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she practiced nursing in a variety of arenas orthopedics, the emergency department, and the intensive care unit. She is trained in assessing and treating a variety of acute and chronic ailments.

In her off time, Shenandoah enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, scuba diving, traveling, and reading.

Alexandra Mullin
Physician Assistant

Alexandra Mullin has been a board certified physician assistant since 2017 and is a Chattanooga native.

Alexandra (Alex) graduated from Notre Dame High School and received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of South Carolina. Alex also competed on USC’s track and cross country teams during her collegiate years. She then went on to complete her Physician Assistant studies at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN, where she received her Masters in Science Medicine. Alex has worked in the fields of family and geriatric medicine for the past 5 years and truly loves how primary care provides the opportunity to treat patients as a whole and build meaningful relationships with patients and their families.

In her spare time, Alex enjoys spending time with her husband and son, playing soccer, cooking, hiking, calligraphy, and browsing the aisles of Target. She is thrilled to be back home in Chattanooga.
